About this place
With an extensive lineup that spans old-school Chinese-style noodles, fragrant stir-fries, and crisp deep-fried teishoku, Kitchen Nishida is a dependable spot for an unpretentious, hearty meal. Treasured by the surrounding neighborhood, it serves its generous sets and noodle dishes equally at lunch and well into the evening.
Nostalgic noodle bowls and moist, fragrant fried rice
The house shoyu ramen features a clear broth with a gentle, traditional profile, and bowls topped with slippery wontons are just as well liked. Arriving to the sound of a wok in rhythm, the fried rice comes tossed with minced chashu pork, naruto fish cake, and egg, gently seasoned with pepper in a moist, clinging texture that scoops effortlessly onto the soup spoon and pairs naturally with the broth served alongside.
Hearty sets from fried whitefish to sizzling stir-fries
Beyond standard Chinese diner fare, the menu embraces the warmth of a classic teishoku canteen or kissaten kitchen. The fried whitefish set, featuring tender fish in a crisp, golden crust, is a popular choice alongside lemon wedges, tartar sauce, shredded cabbage, and miso soup. Diners can also dig into rice-friendly stir-fries like pork ginger, liver and garlic chives, or pork and eggplant in rich miso, as well as combo sets pairing ramen and a half-bowl of rice with freshly fried tonkatsu.
Seating includes both counter stools and raised tatami seating, making it convenient for solo meals, family visits, or groups alike. Bottled or draft beer can be ordered alongside pan-fried gyoza, and payment is cash only.
